Mit dem Ende des Jahres bietet sich eine gute Gelegenheit auf das vergangene Spielejahr zurückzuschauen und die besten Spiele des Jahres zu würdigen. Bevor im Dezember die Game Awards 2021 stattfinden durften jetzt bereits Spieler aus aller Welt abstimmen, wer den Golden Joystick Award verdient. Besonders spannend wurde es in zwei Kategorien, die beste Gaming Hardware aller Zeiten und das Beste Spiel aller Zeiten, wo jeweils PC und Dark Souls einen Preis abräumten. Die meisten Preise gingen aber dieses Jahr an "Resident Evil Village", das ganze 4 Mal die Konkurrenz zurückliess.
